Q: Are you waterfront?
A: We are not water front, however beautiful Adirondack Lake is approximately 500' to our West and is an easy 2-3 minute walk for the average person. For swimming, Lake Abanakee has a public beach and is located off of Chain Lakes Road which is about ½ mile to our East. Water access is very easy from Lone Birch Motel.
Q: Do you accept pets?
A: Yes. There is an additional charge of $10 per night with a maximum of 2 pets. Pets cannot be left unattended in the rooms. We have a kennel available for $7 per day. It's an XL kennel that will accommodate most sized pets.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: All reservations are guaranteed with a valid credit card. We have a one week cancellation policy for June, July, August, holidays and special events (Antique Show, Parent Weekends, etc.) This cancellation policy is strictly enforced. If someone cancels within the week prior to their stay, all reasonable attempts to rebook their room will be made. If the room cannot rebooked, the credit card on file WILL be charged for the full amount.
Other times during the year, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. The same rules apply as above.
Please know we can make no exceptions to the above policy as we will have turned away other guests.
Q: Do you have non-smoking rooms available?
A: Yes! Lone Birch Motel is proud to be a 100% smoke free facility for the comfort of our guests. Smoking is permitted on decks and on premises, however, we ask that you kindly extinguish cigarettes in the receptacles provide at each room.
Q: What time may I check in?
A: You may check in anytime your room is available; however rooms are not guaranteed before 4pm. If you plan to arrive early, please let us know and every effort will be made to assure that your room is ready. If your room cannot be ready before 4pm, there are several local attractions and recreational activities to do in the area until your room is available to you.
Q: What time is check out?
A: Check out is at 11am or sooner. Late check outs can only be granted with prior approval and an additional charge. Guests who fail to check out on time without prior approval will be charged for an additional day. If your late check request out is denied, please understand that we have another guest arriving for your room that day and we must have it cleaned and ready for them as we had it clean and ready for you.
Q: Do you provide refunds?
A: Lone Birch Motel will make every effort to assure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable; however we cannot issue refunds due to weather or mechanical failure of equipment. One of the small trials of living in the Adirondack Mountains is that we are sometimes forced to wait for parts or repairs beyond what would seem routine at your home.
We realize that weather affects many activities, but please understand that we cannot be responsible for Mother Nature.
Q: What is a housekeeping unit?
A: A housekeeping unit is one that does not receive daily maid service. Housekeeping units are similar to being home. Each clean, comfortable housekeeping unit at Lone Birch is fully equipped and ready for your stay. Each one has linens, towels, pillows, and a kitchen stocked with pots, pans, dishes and necessary utensils. Please note that we do not provide towels for water sports, so please do not remove our towels from the rooms.
You are not expected to thoroughly clean our housekeeping units on departure, but you are expected to wash all dishes and clean any food or drink spills or messes. There will be charge on your credit card for excess mess.
If you require maid service in your housekeeping unit, services are available for an additional charge. Please inquire at the front desk on arrival to schedule maid service. Maid service will not be performed on housekeeping units without scheduling!
Q: Do you have phones in the rooms?
A: Phones are not available in guest rooms at this time. There is a phone in the office available for your use during office hours. Only emergency messages will be delivered to guest rooms. All other messages will be in the motel office. If you are expecting a call and/or message, please check with the office.
Q: Do you have Internet access?
A: Yes! Complimentary WiFi is available in your guest room. You must bring your own computer.
